turnaround89 all the chevy chassis are basicaly the same so any one you can get ur hands on.
v8superbeatle i liked the bug in the vid but i dont like the idea of welding two frames together, it just seems like way too much work and also i didnt like the radiator placement.

not to mention the 3" of frame that sticks out of the rear fenders. I guess they used the bronco for the rear of the frame for the shorter length in the rear.

it may just look like a piece of angle iron with some holes in it but they both took me about an hour a piece because if you can tell the top had to be ground at like a 10 degree angle and then about 6 inches from the back it had to be notched and welded to make a slight bend plus getting all the holes to line up lol. a pic from under the bug. another pic, cant tell much.

Cool! I can tell the top pic we're looking at the passenger side of the heater channel, the s10 frame and the mounts you making with the angle iron bolted up. Looks like the frame gets pretty close to the heater channel, which I think is good. I was thinking of doing the same, once I get to that point, using angle iron for the mounts to the heater channels.
Lookin' good!

ya the front of the angle iron wil be a mount in its self, it will be welded to the frame and then ill have gussets comming off the frame to the angle iron.

I see you've got some higher resolution pictures now. I was wondering, if it's not too much to ask, if you'd take some pics of your S10 chassis where the cut and weld was made w/ the body on? I'm thinking of just shorting mine where the factory weld is, but like you mentioned the body wont go over it where the frame bows out. With mine, the super bee, it'll work but I have to cut away 1/2 of the heater channel, which really doesn't matter to me cause I wont be using them, but it's more work though and I want the body to be strong enough to hold on its own. After cutting away all the fender wells and the build in frame in front, back and the heater channels, I'll probably have a week body? Check this out, I think this would a cool way to do it.

the body is off right now and will be for a while. but the frame is cut, twards the front of the chassis just before it bows out, we cut it and measured 24" twards the front end and cut it there. then we sloted the front half of the frame and slid the back half in and welded it. it works out perfectly.

I'm just going to use the Isuzu Amigo leaf springs I got from the junkyard. I turned them around so the short end is the shackle end. I plan on cut the chassis at and angle right behind the shock mounts and I'll even use the hole already there to mount the shackles.
