Thanks to everyone for the kind words and prayers. We had the funeral Tuesday and my sisters and I are all back to work trying to get back to something that resembles normal. My mother was a great person who cared so much for everyone. She was also the person who helped me purchase my first hot rod, a 1930 model 'A' Ford Coupe when I was 16 and working part time as a mechanic helper. I also think I get my artistic abilities from her as well. Death is a fate that awaits us all and without getting to preachy, I know my mother is in a much better place than all of us right now.
Again, thanks for everything. Paul
p.s. I'll get back to work on the project soon.....I promise.

What a year, we lost my Father-in-law yesterday morning. He had been ill for the last month after a heart attack and kidney failure. He's really going to be missed. I'm a better man having known him for the last 26 years.

Wow, a full year since I've posted anything here. Thanks everyone for the prayers. They say things come in threes so since the loss of my Mother and then Father-in-law I found myself unemployed. I landed on my feet real quick and I'm now one of the building engineers at a local hospital 7 minutes from my house. I still have the car but haven't worked on it in a while.
One major change with the project will be switching out the engine choice. I started mocking things up using a SBC but due to the cost of adapters it will be cheaper and much easier to use an Audi V8. I'm currently looking for an '97 - '99 Audi V8 from an A8.
Matt, you and your car have been a great inspiration to get this thing going.
Ray, your "Over The Top" build and generosity is that constant itch in the back of my head saying "Make it happen!"
Thanks everyone, I hope to have some progress to show soon.

I'm glad I was of some inspiration. I promise to stop by with the bug once I get the lights wired. Right now I'm just taking a breather from the bug and will soon catch my 141st wind.

Hey Paul, I really like your Audi decision. It will be so much more unique. Keep pluggin' away on the project... even if it's just in your head or your computer. The planning and design is still part of the fun of having a project. We have all had our priorities we needed to take care of. Be patient and stick with it. Like Matt said, they are never finished anyway... some are just longer than others. I have waited my whole teenage and adult life to have the opportunity to do a project like I am now. I have started, stopped, sold, and bought new projects over and over during the years. The stars will align for you. I'm rooting for you!! Congratulations on the new job!!
