The frame and roll cage was not difficult just very time consuming ( If you don't spend lots of time checking measurements and angles it will come back to haunt you in the end ). total cost for materials to build the chassis, cage and purchase of mustang II front suspension crossmember was about $1,000 plus another $2,000 for suspension and brake components and it has taken almost a year of working on it when time allows to get it to this point.

wow a year, but it is a nice looking chassis and it sounds like you are planning on drag racing it. i have been working on mine for about a month just a day or two at a time. i dont know if you have seen the pics of mine on here under building a v8 bug, but i am getting there.

Yes I have seen the pics, Hows the s-10 chassis working out ? I initially thought about using and s-10 chassis for mine. but if the s-10 chassis works out well for you I may have to build another one.

well if you have the money and the tools i would stick with the way you are doing it because yours is awsome. then again im not going to race mine except from the street light lol. i also have a 1969 chevy c-10 short box that i am building up so i have to put most my money in that and the bug is just a side project. the s-10 chassis is great because it has power steering, power brakes, disk brakes, it has all my motor and tranny mounts so it was just an easy way of doing it for me. i would suggest one like mine for like arround town or just as a play toy but not a dragster. great job thought

It's a bit of a long shot but I'll try anyway. Been trying to get a copy of the chassis plans but www.prostreetbug.com doesn't seem active anymore. Do you or anyone else on here have a copy of the plans I could buy ? Cheers, Si

I emailed the place a few months back with questions before making up my mind. The guy responded that day.

Very nice ride. Thanks for the link to the glass bodies too. I am looking for a one piece front end for the Bug From Hell 2 pro mod were building.
