well got my carb from flea-bay. woot predator for $130. now i'm just waiting on the carb overhaul kit to come in. should be here in about a week. found out there is a rebuild kit for about $30 and an overhaul kit for about $80. considering how cheap i got the carb and how gummed up from old gas. i went ahead and went for the overhaul kit. price list total oval bug body $177 s10 with v8 already done $1000+84 s10 i got for free-$800 i sold my motorcycle for= $200 carb $130 carb overhaul kit $80 electric fan $35 total so far= $622 (not bad seeing as how i now have just about everything) i am hoping to have the whole project done for under $2000 I got that much money in my Driver's Front Wheel assembly!!! There are definately different ways to go about doing a project like these... All of them have merit... ANY project can be a money pit if you don't watch out! The longer I think about my project, the more ideas keep cropping up on where and how I want to spend more money on it!

I did some homework a S10 blazer is 100.5 inches for a 2 door version a bronco II is 6 inches shorter which I believe would be the same as a beetle from what I have read here 94.5 inches I wonder how well it would match up??? hummmmmmmmm.

There's a guy on hotrodders.com that has posted his v8 build progress (as attachments, otherwise I would post the pics), he took a short bed reg cab S10, moved the front spring perches forward 9 or so inches to get the needed wheelbase for the beetle. Also, look into jbhover's build. He didn't have to move the spring perches at all. He just used trailer leaf springs, which are cheap online, and he got the wheelbase needed.
BTW, std beetle wheelbase is 94.5" and super's are 95.25".
