how far further back is the engine from where it was and in your opinion do you think a LSX engine is wider that a big block at the header flanges, im wondering this as im using a prostreetbug chassis and looking for headers say that a made for a LS1 camaro or s-10 something i could modify to save on expenses and time on making a set PS great build!!

I didn't move the engine back any further than it already was. We did lower the engine about 2" for "center of gravity" considerations. The Big Block is definitely wider than the LSX engine. Also, the header sizes for a LSX motor will be quite a bit smaller tube size. The 2" primary pipe headers I previously had on my bug were "off the shelf" headers for a '67-'69 Camaro.

Crazy build seen it in the magazine. I dont know about the aluminum interior...very nice build! Thanks! I got an email the other day from Popular Hot Rodding magazine. They put it in their March, 2011 issue in the "Under Construction" section. I screwed up by not picking which pictures to use with the article... The lady went to my build thread and chose pictures from the front of the thread that are 2-1/2 years old... Therefore, a LOT has changed since the pictures she used. Oh well, I guess any press is good press, right?? It's my fault I didn't choose my favorite pictures and send them in. I just assumed she would have gone to the LAST posts to get the most recent pictures! The floor and firewall are 1/8" thick aluminum. The door panels and rear deck area will be steel sheetmetal. All of them will be powdercoated and insulated with Dynamat prior to being carpeted. It should keep the heat, noise, and vibrations to a minimum... Also, I don't have to worry about the floor panels ever rusting being aluminum!!

just a thought i am gonna put the thin weatherstrip that is sticky on one side between my floor and the chassis tubes. Thought that would kill the "ra ra racecar" noises also.

Looks like your friend isn't wasting any time getting the sheet metal done. I can't wait to see it all finished.

Nice job on getting the ink, BTW. Post it up when you get the issue.
