Fordpower I looked at picture, looks nice.I have a question though they are designed for v6 ,do you think it will withstand v8 dont know how much Horsepower you will be running, but that might be a weak spot if you go to crazy.I could be wrong.

The Fiero is one of the most famous kit cars on the market...I have seen 350 chevy's, big blocks, and even ones with blowers, remember that the engine is in the back just like the Fiero and even if one wanted to set an engine over the front end of one of these, all you would need is stronger springs...or my favorite choice, air bags! they take all the guess work out of proper spring weight.

Looks like the fiero front suspension is pretty simple. Fieros make for cool project cars.

Now on my car it is all VW chassis I put a 4 inch channel iron around bottom of pan and a roll cage around back then welded it all together to form a unibody type chassis, and it seems to be solid as a rock I am 400 plus HP and no creaks or anything when you get on it.
If you are doing a mid engine all the VW front end works just fine , just beef up the rear for eng and trans, put a set of discs on back for brakes, I am still using drums on front disc on back and my car stops good.

Hey, another mid-engine guy! I found a lot of good information over at www.lambolounge.comThere are a lot of folks using the fiero stuff there and a lot of good stuff on transaxles too. I'm using the Audi A4 5 speed and a lot of folks are using the Audi 5000. Can't wait to see what you got going! Paul

I'm sure you've probably seen this, but just incase you haven't, here's a mid engine build based on the Rotary mid engine chassis design. Not hard to find the plans if you google it. I believe this build uses an A5 audi tranny.

That's Hugo's car in Mexico City, Mexico. That's an Audi A8 V8 bolted to the A4 five speed. He's using C4 vette front suspension and C5 vette uprights in the rear. I haven't seen and progress on this one in a while.

There you go. You have spec down better than me. This car is one of the reasons I'm build a V8 bug. It's too bad that either all progress has stopped or Hugo has just stopped posting progress. If the project ever gets finished and looks anything like his beetle used to it'll be really nice.
