This is my pedal setup. It is a summit racing sthingy style gas pedal and a brake pedal out of a 2006 altima. I had to shorten the brake pedal but the master cyl. has independant lines going to each wheel. Will be kind of cool.

I put the seat from the s-10 in it to see how I liked it. It actually fit very good. A little bracing and she's good to go. Of course it will need a new cover, but that's nothing. Also what are your thoughts on a roll bar or cage. Its not going to be raced, but for safety purposes? I just haven't seen a good roll bar on a convertable that I like except for maybe the ones for the sn95 mustangs. They are pretty trick. your thoughts?

This is as low as I could get it to go too. Its a little high to me, but it might be fine. I am making a fiberglass cover for the rear too, thats what the wood is in the back. I have to make a template. That will come soon.

I am at a stopping place right now too, because my motor has now began leaking oil and it looks like a rear main. So much for plug and play. My intake had a small leak too and while removing it a bolt broke off FLUSH with the head. Ahhhhh!!!! So while drilling it out, my small drill bit broke off inside the bolt FLUSH!!!! Murphy leave me alone!!!! So I am stuck fixing things for a while.

So this is how the bug is sitting right now. I believe I will have to take the back down some more. Too much rake.

Or do like my dad said and raise the front up. What do you think?

put the running boards on to see where it sets. if anything had to be adjusted i would lean towards raising the body in the front. definitely have to see how the steps make it look. but it looks mean as is

How about something like this from Factory Five... it would be a little different.

Yeah, this is what I was thinking about doing. It looks like a little audi or some small cars roll bar. I like it. I believe I need something for safety reasons.

I wonder if I can find the pipes already bent like that from something else to make it work. I do not have access to a pipe bender and want to use something stronger than exhaust pipe. Duh!!! But I do like that look. Also Im looking for the piping needed to start my running boards. I have it planned out just need the materials. I believe with the way the fenders are sitting with it being 5" wider, that it will look more like the old 30's roadster running boards which will be pretty cool. We will see.

With the wide stance of the wheelbase, and the weight of the S-10 chassis, you won't need to worry about it rolling over too much, but better safe than sorry. I would find a shop that could roll some thick gauge pipe for you, it would be much more exspensive to buy actual roll bar tubing that's already done in that style. if you get some measurements for them, a fab shop or a good muffler shop could do the bends for you at a reasonable price. As far as your rake goes on the car, i would like to see more side shots of the whole car, i have a good rake on mine, but too much will throw the look off. If the front wheels aren't rubbing the fenders when you are turning and going over bumps at the same time, leave it and lower the back, obviously if they are rubbing, raise the front.

I think a 4 point roll bar would be all that's needed. Looking good!!!

That's true too. Might even be cheaper than my idea.

I guess it just depends on how much safety you want. I four point would help in a roll over. A six point in a side impact accident. An 8 - 10 point would completely protect you. A 8-10 point cage would look funny though in a roadster. Mock's idea would look much better though.
