I promised some pictures of the suspension upgrades so here are some pictures... Here is a couple pictures of the original, out-dated front suspension... This first picture shows the old 1957 Chevy Steering Gearbox, the front leaf springs, the dropped solid axle, and the 4-wheel drum brakes...

Cool! Sounds like a good time! Man, I haven't been to TWS in forever. I live in College Station at one time and it was a short drive away. Awesome and fast track!

Yeah, making it go fast straight and a canyon carver are two different worlds. It'll be quiet the canyon carver once you get it set up right!

Thanks for sharing pics! Looking freakin' AWESOME!!! One hell of a upgrade! It'll break and handle much better! Obviously.
454bug, Did / Do you have a manual steering box setup? I'm curious cause I've got a power steering box and manual for my build and I'm trying to figure out which to go with. I've got opinions to use the manual box cause the car wont be heavy, and my old man suggested to just use the power steering box for ease of steering. Bugs originally have manual, but I'm trying to figure out how it steers with a manual box with a V8 up front.
Also, what kinda of paint did you use on your chassis? I'm looking for inexpensive rattle can suggestions. The bug will be garage kept from here on out and it wont be a show car. Just a fun street / strip rod.
Another, what stall are you using? I'm thinking about going with a 2500 stall with my setup, maybe a little higher.
Thanks!
