it always looks scary when you start putting down filler and you have these big cow spots. thankfully they shrink a lot by the time you get done. and make sure you get that hammerwork in before you put down the bondo. it makes a world of difference. im usually stuck hammering spraying and sanding for a couple hours before my panels are straight enough to even bondo(it pays to buy a good starting point, im just too cheap).
looks like youre getting some progress going.

ya body work sucks lol thats all i can realy say I actually don't mind doing body work. I need a little break from all this metal work on the frame, time to switch gears. Most of my body work will be in the fenders. Everything else are just small whiskey dents.

Most of the spots I'm working are dings you can feel with your hand but you can't really see with your eye. Really nothing to hammer out. Now those fenders are another story, but I'm just trying to get everything ready for paint. My uncle is a really good painter, doesn't spray for a living, but he's going to do it for free really. I just have to get the primer, paint, and clear.

I wonder what paint is running for a pint these days? I'm thinking of just sticking with painting it one color, BLUE. I think I just want to keep with the original blue color scheme with the grey interior. I'm thinking of going with a blue pearl though kinda like the blue on Hondas, I think? The name is either "Vivid Blue Pearl" or "Electron Blue Pearl". I'm not sure what the real difference is between the two. Vivid Blue PearlElectron Blue PearlThey seem VERY similar.

Sure can! I made some extra money doing some freelance artwork so I'll have some cash to spend on getting most of what I need like head gaskets, head bolts, valve covers, intake bolts, distributor / mounting plate / gasket, spark wires, spark plugs, motor mounts (the rubber ones), headers, alternator, starter, 2500 stall converter, tranny rebuild, oil pan, water neck, timing cover gasket, self aligning rocker arms, and last but not least push rods. I might even have enough cash left over to build the roll bar.
Well, that's all I can afford for now.

make sure that you get a converter that works in your operating rpm range A 2500 stall is all I need. That and I wouldn't want anything higher cause I plan on cruising the bug when finished, with the occasional street / track race of coarse. I just don't want to be pulling away from stop lights, when just cruising, and lighting up the tires every time, not that there's anything wrong with that, but you know how them cops from Texas with the sunglasses are. The other weekend I got pulled over on my way to gig, my inspection was out, and I had my guitar in it's hard case sitting in the front seat. He asked "Is that a rocket launcher"? I chuckled and said "No, it's a guitar." Needless to say he was being serious and didn't find it funny. wow thats a long list and its not even christmas yet lol. ya im the same way hug list and shallow pockets lol I'll pretty much get most of what I need for the drive train. Still a long list to go. ;D Nickel and dime, NICKEL.........and DIME.

i recomend buying your parts in an order so as to be able to assemble your car while youre waiting for the rest of the money to show up.
the cops with the sunglasses arent so bad...... its the black and whites with the cowboy hats. around here iffn they stop you, youre not leaving without a ticket. period.

That's pretty much what I'm doing. Got everything I need for the chassis, working on getting everything for the drive train, once that's in I can fab up the floor, firewall and cage, last but not least is all exterior / interior stuff.
Guess it doesn't really matter what they're wearing, some are cool, others, well, aren't.

oh by the way, i found out not too long ago that they will give you a ticket if the inspection is out, BUT if its not there at all...... well its just a warning.
