It has been a few months since I have posted, but in that time I got my Bug back on the road. The new Wilwood brakes were worth it, and it is good knowing that 48 yearas of rust is finally fixed. No plans to get paint on it soon, but rather I want to start work on a car for my daughter as soon as I get back from Iraq. I am thinking about building a frame jig to build "bolt on in place of the belly pan" frames for Bugs. Any thoughts on a market for this? I am thinking simple frame, with Mustang II crossmember all the way to four link rear, front suspension and brakes. The Street rod crown has a group of venders for frames, but I have never seen a Bug one.

Thanks, Looks like there is already a good product on the market. I guess my next step is a 50 MPG Bug with a wicked TDI or ECOTEC.

sorry, i guess i did'nt reconize it cause of the paint. I did se pics of this car b-4. True, nobody on the East coast does this kinda thing,(rolling chassis) I think mainly is because there is more circle trac and dirt trac fans here andf not much of a street/ beach cruizin crowd. That and most people i talk to about my project think it's the crazyest thing they;ve ever heard of.

That's true. Most people are blown away by the idea. Still would be cool though if someone produced a chassis mid to further east.

I always seem to take pictures too late into projects, and none of them really show what I tore the car abart to modify. But I here are a few of the Four bar set up, and a the engine compartment. Honestly, one of the best things I did was swap hood hinges so I could close out the Firewall and still have the hood open without the hinge points being under the cowl.
