I've been busy with work lately with 3 new expansion/construction projects, installing new machines, moving old machines, order new machines, general maintenance, etc, and getting ready to install a 1.3million dollar 6 million btu heat treat system, etc....
What little free time I have had I've been working on the bug. I have some new pictures to put up an update, just haven't had the time to put them up.
I've got the ford 8.8" rear end put back together and got it under the bug sunday. I also picked up a set or rims and tires for the ford rear end so I could get it rolling again.
I need to do a little more work with the rear end, then I need to make some angle blocks to get my pinion angle correct and make a trans. cross member to get the engine sitting in the car at the right angle.
My cousin is getting married this weekend so I won't be at work on sat. so maybe I'll get a chance to throw some new pictures and a quick update up.
I'm sure everyone else has been busy too.......
Talk to you later Tom.

Hey guys, It's been a roller coaster the past few months, I had to turn off the net and some other expenditures cause of lack of funds. Still tinkering with the bug, It runs ok but has not thrilled me like i thought it would. Baby boy is huge, 6 months old and weighs 20 lbs!! He's very healthy to say the least. I'll check in from time to time, I'm working my @$$ off so I dont have a lot of time to do the computer thing like I used too. I will try to get some good pics of the bug in the sun up soon, if I can remeber how to do it.

I've been too busy dealing with an OSHA audit at work, so no time to work on the bug...............
I did buy a set of PT cruiser seats for the bug for $25 and I got around to clean my garage last weekend.
After all this OSHA crap I'll be taking a week of so I can make some progress............

I hear that. It's been too hot lately for me to even want to work on the bug. 103ยบ here today and this week keeps getting hotter. It also doesn't help that the splash page (v8bugs.com) is still down. People probably don't even know how to get to the forum.

We've had a few hot days here too, but the heat doesn't bother me since I work in a foundry... today it was about 110 in the cool and 120+ in the hot spots at work..... I would gladly work on the bug in the 100+ sun rather than be at work dealing with OSHA crap..... lol.
Yeah I'm sure the splash page being down doesn't help. But ihave a link to this forum in my links section of my website and my old forum still links to this forum...... I see probably an average of 5 or 6 people leave my site and come to this forum a day........to bad none of them are active....

Obviously the site isnt dead or you wouldnt be here. Lack of traffic doesnt mean dead, just means we are out there workin. Not in here talkin about it. So, whats it gonna be? You gonna sit around talkin about what your gonna do? Or get out there build something, and come back and show us what you did? Then after a year or two of workin on your own v8 bug can you see what it takes to make it work.

R.I.P. V8 Bugs. You're site is dead. I'm outta here. What a shame Well, lets see here mr. V8square.... you started no threads... have no build... or any pics to show it ,have not contributed to this site but to say its dead. So i ask you sir, how is a site dead when i am clearly pointing out that it is not. This site is what we make it, and we will always be here.

I agree with Mock1racer. You need to contribute in order for a site to stay alive. If you're working on a V8 square, post some pics. Also, there's not many people out there building V8 bugs. Not enough to keep the site as active as others anyways. Also, we all have day jobs and families that we spend time with. So these projects tend to be slower going since you're re-engineering a car entirely instead of just rebuilding it. There's a lot of thinking involved. Probably more thinking than wrenching.
