I have an 110v 100 amp (max) AC arc welder that'll weld with a maximum electrode size of 3/32". Which rod would give me the best penetration and hold up to the stresses of road use. The frame wall thickness is 1/8"?
I'm leaning towards the 6013 cause it's ease of welding, slag removal is easy and it has a great bead appearance. I've read it has all the same properties of the 6010 and 6011 but has less penetration and has a nicer looking appearance. I was thinking of using a 7018 rod cause of it's higher tensile strength but I have a harder time welding with that rod on my machine.
