im thinking my next project might be the v8 powered bar stool, but im curious about how they did the trans and clutch set up, obviously its single spd unless its got a lawn mower trans in it, but did they use a custom sintrifical clutch or hydro static cluch, does anyone have any ideas?

just go centrifugal. you really dont want it to hook. probly a cart rearend, or a fourwheeler backwards and upside down. could be gear driven direct off the flywheel using a starter gear into a rearend........ the mind is a terrible thing to waste.

ya maybe, but u gotta admit, to pull a bar stool out of ur garage with a huge v8 in it, it would be pretty awsome. also ive got a 350 sitting in the garage not doing anything

No it's not There's one over here as well. Crap to watch down the strip though as it can't do a full burn pass as there wasn't enough room in the car to fit a full cage.

Stacey David, the former host of Trucks on SPEED who now has another show on SPEED called Gearz, did a segment on the barstool and it's a kit that you can get..apparently, they use it on the show to move projects around the shop that aren't totally mobile yet...and the shopping cart ,I think,is either owned or sponsored by the food store that sponsors a NASCAR race at Bristol Raceway every year..here's a link for a little info on the barstool.. www.audiportal.com/AutoShows/SEMA-Sideshow-Hossfly-V8-Barstools.html

forget about spending 8k on that, i want a toy and dont want to pay the price of a car haha. ill build my own, it will be better i think, cuz i can make it exactly how i want it. one question, what kinda water pump did they use, does anyone know? u can see it on the left side. just a small pump but wouldnt have to be a special one to withstand the heat?

no it looks to be just an electric water pump that goes to the radiator in the back.

its an inline water pump, the more you look at it, the simpler it seems.

i just did some quick searches to come up with those pics. one of the sites was the hossfly homepage. they have a video of it running. the builders limit it at 25 mph at 5000 rpm......... they dont say anything about putting in a rev happy 283 or 327. i dont see why it shouldnt hit 45 at 9000 rpm. i think that the water pump might be a marine unit.
