I intend to paint the bumpers and the head light rings the same color that I paint the body. I'll paint all chrome trim black. Like this. or even like this with all chrome painted black (the black is really carbon fiber parts on this one). I like the shaved handle up front. Here's a grey one. I like the shaved trim on this one.

The silver is a really neat look with the blacked out trim. I have owned 6 blue vehicles in my life so I am always thinking of different colors... Your original thoughts for the medium blue color is still a great choice.
By the way, have you found any businesses in the USA that sold Carbon Fiber parts (like the headlight bezels) for our vintage of bugs? I have found a number of places that sell stuff for the new bug body but not much for our old bugs...

Also, have you had any more luck finding a front spoiler setup for the front of your bug?

I like both too, but I'm kinda leaning towards the silver because of the fact that silver doesn't get as hot during the summer compared to the other colors. It gets really hot here in Houston during summer time and I'd hate to put off driving it when finished because I couldn't stand the heat. I haven't found any manufacturer here in the US. Seems to be a couple over seas but the cost to ship the items would be rediculous. Might as well make them. I found one I like, but it's not for a bug. I'm not too sure if I'm going to add one after all. If I could get one like those Jap bugs had I would go for it. The one you sent over was decent but not exactly the look I was going for. I wanted more of that drift style spoiler / air dam. So I think I'll probably go with the shaved bumper less look. Like what you got going on, but with the hood handle shaved and the turn signals shaved. That what I've decided for now. Too many decisions, LOL! Shaved bumper like this, Shaved handle and turn signals like this, Mid America Motorworks sells 3 in 1 head lights. I intend to convert the parking light or the fog light into the turn signal and I'll probably install some of those small side marker turn signals like the midnight blue bug above. Well, that's the plan for now.

What do you guys think about this color scheme? Silver, shaved bumper, lights and trunk handles. Paint my rims black and add a red lip like so. I thinking about going this direction cause my motor will be about 85% all black with red accents here and there. Yesterday I ordered almost everything to finish up my motor minus push rods cause I have to check their length. Here's the breather and timing cover I ordered. I basically ordered all the individual pieces minus the valve covers cause I need center bolt. I'm going to buy some stock vortec valve covers. I might even run a red stripes down those raised lines? Got a set of red ACCEL spark plug wires. Ordered a black HEI distributor.....etc. I've got mainly black with accents of red so I'm trying to carry that outside and inside the car. I'm thinking about getting these seats. Some red belts, 5 point. And I plan to do the interior / carpet in a dark grey. For the dash I'll paint that wood grain stripe red. These exhaust tips. And last but not least I'll plan to get on of those 4 in 1 tachs to replace the speedo in my dash. Who needs a speedo any who? I'm just concerned about people seeing my tail lights after a race.

Forgeline is another company that you can pick your powdercoat colors for the center section as well as the inner and outer rim halves... they are PRICEY though... about $1,000 each!

the color?...I'd say drop the red on the wheels..just my personal favourite..but the red stripes on the valve covers works..you've got a ways to go before you can really start worrying about paint just yet,I'd say.. ;D

LOL! I don't have the seat belts yet, those pics were from Summit. Just planning out. I do have all the engine stuff on the way though. ;D I'm really good about judging my speed and tend to drive like an old man. I'm sure the bug, once completed, will change that.......a little. I don't like giving my money to the state.

I'm thinking within the next 3-4 months I'll be close to getting ready for paint.

Come to think of it, I would make the rid lip like these wheels so the red isn't too over powering. After thinking of a way to recover my dash with tolex I'm learning towards and interior like this. except with two tone seats...

Two tone vivid blue pearl with the crystal, then do the line around the rim, but with a thin strip of blue.
