We then moved to the front of the car to work on the front suspension... I ordered my new rack-and-pinion Sweet Manufacturing power rack... it should be in soon. We used one of my buddy's spare units to mock up the front steering... The first thing we needed to do was to check our bump steer... We started with 200 thousandths... Static negative camber of 2 degrees and negative 6 degrees at full dive... We started making adjustments...

We realized we weren't getting enough adjustment out of our setup so we decided to add one of Sweet's 3/8" thick aluminum spacers to get a better lineup... a few minutes later and we had the bump steer to zero! Man, the adjustment of their products is awesome!

When we build the new roll cage we will have new roll bar members that will travel from behind the dash to the front of the car by each side of the radiator. We decided to remove the old ugly inner fenders and rebuild them to match the new roll bar members that will be passing there... Therefore, this will allow the largest tire possible on the front end of the car...

Part of this build is for the literal "shock and WOW" factor... therefore, I want to run the largest front tire possible on the car... After MUCH number-crunching I "thought" a 12-wide wheel would fit snugly under the front fender instead of the 10-1/2" wide wheel I had been planning on the front end. Sure enough, it fit with a HUGE 335/30/18 tire on it... We checked the turning radius at "full dive" and we got 22 degrees... with this short wheelbase it should be an acceptable amount for the intended use of the car... Here is the comparison of the original front tire size I was planning to run (315/30/18) and the new front tire size I plan to run (335/30/18).

I have recently ordered an 18-gallon Fuel Safe Fuel Cell... I also ordered a front and rear set of Penske, Double-Adjustable aluminum coilovers with remote reservoirs... they are the BEST that money can buy... I also ordered a complete Rebuild Kit for my Turbo 400 Transmission. The kit is from Monster Transmission and it has everything needed to do a complete rebuild except for the Torque Converter...

The car looks fantastic with the fenders and running boards on! I think you have the stance nailed down! Have you figured out how you are going to duct the air into the radiator yet or is that still too far out? I was looking at a a website and saw this duct box and was thinking if you could match the area of the front intake it should work fine for you. picture on left side. www.lefthanderchassis.com/267.htmlMaybe something like this. Sorry for the poor quality....

Kinda recall Ray finding a front clip that has a opened up front clip like your illustration and it had a mesh screen. I believe he's going to make a duct to direct the air through the rad.
