Interested to see how you will be putting in that clip. Google Andy Nelson v8 bug. There is a build of his car somewhere on the net. He put a Nova front clip in his. Competed in the $2008 Grassroots Motorsports magazine challenge. Was in the 10's. Videos are on youtube. Anyway, if you can find his build, you will get a good visual of how that front clip fits. I'll search for it and post if I can find it.

Funny you mention the Nelson ride... Doing sorta the same thing, but im gonna try to NOT cut my car up too bad to get it in. Looks like the outside measurements of the clip are 1/2" to the side smaller than the inside measurement of frame i built. BUT, i will be able to move the engine forward at least a foot, which would be great since im 6'2"
Right now im just collecting parts again. Got the frame, but its bare. Needs everything. Gonna do some cutting, grinding, welding, blasting, and then start putting stuff together. You know what they say... Third times the charm...

Im havin a big problem with photobucket so i cant load any pics. Will have to try something else. However, since the fall of our economy i have close to zero $$ to put into reforming my bug. So, this is where im at, Ive got the 454/350 th mounted into a 70ish camaro frame, wired, plummed, oiled, fueled up, and charging. I did finally get it running. for a few moments. A750 holley is not big enough to keep it ideling without stayin on the thottle lever. A guy at work has an 850 DP that i can try and im hoping that will help. So far, the engine runs pretty decent, nice and smooth for a big engine. With a set of Hedman headers, and an air gap intake even a bone stock big block shakes the ground. Also, since this is still the same car just still under construction ill keep this thread and just roll with it.

SWEET IT WORKED!! Doin this from a phone is tough. Anyway, got my new powerhouse tuned in. Bone stock 454 from a travel lodge, all i did was put on an aluminum air gap intake, and some Hedmans, hot plugs gapped to .045, and some AV gas. Sooo smooth at idle and gets nasty at higher RPMs.This is the stock HEI, so it will run even better with the MSD system. Now back to work on the frame...

Sounds great! Is that sub frame just to run the engine or is it going in the bug? What is it from?

Well, the just is... Im just gonna put Dammit back together with the carbed roller. Cant sell it without motor/trans, so might as well sell the camaro project for someone else.
Holley 600 dbl pmpr. msd pro billet dist. 6al box with blaster 2 coil. edelbrock duel plane intake. Summit double row timing kit for vortec convertion.

Well, hey you guys and girls... I'm back, and boy what a ride it's been. Ok, so I rebuilt the 5.7, got it running like a champ, and just like that traded it for a 67 C10 long wheelbase stepside and a 69 C10 short step. Sold the 69, and put the big block and the camaro clip under the 67. It's sexy. That was three years ago, now I'm back to work on the big. Scored a 2004 4.8 l8tr with a 4L60E trans, with 93K on it. Going to have to pretty much rebuild the front end, change some of the rear setup, build a bigger fuel cell, and a lot of sheet metalwork. So now I have to fix my photobucket account so I can post pics... C-ya...
