holy jeebus!! that frame is dead sexy. if i had $5000 i'd be all over it. I don't even think i'll have that much in the completed project. so far i'm into it for about for about $600

thats a downright beatiful chassis. and itll help you get past the tough spot of trying to get everything lined up and straight. and its done right. now you can concentrate on the fun stuff like engine and tranny.

I have the ramjet 350 out of the truck its a couple years old but has less then 500 miles. I am wanting to run a 700r4 but I am not sure what upgraded parts I should be using. The motor is rated at 350 hp and 400 lbs. Anyone here running a 700r4?

From what I understand, not from experience but from reading, is that the 700r4 can't handle a lot of horse power. I'm not sure just how much they can handle before it would fail because the guys that have had them fail were running motors that are cranking 600hp. Try running your question by the guys at hotrodders.com and I'm sure they can guide you in the right direction.

Looks sweet ;D
I'm building the same chassis but from the plans & had to cut all the steel etc. At least i've got some nice pics now as to what I should be aiming for when it's finished.

i think that chassis will be alot easier to mount the body to, then the s-10, cuz its the size and shape of the bug body lol

What motor mounts are you guys using or recomend using on a boxed frame like this? Is there something that works with little modification then fabing your own mounts?

Since you don't have your own welder, the easiest thing would be to buy motor mount plates. Only thing about plates is you wont have the rubber bushings that absorb some of the motor shake. You probably could make some sort of rubber bushing though. You can probably get away with this by drilling and bolting? I would think. I think these will give you an idea of how simple it could be.

Thanks that helps alot I couldn't quite get an image in my head. I have access to a welder I just have to relocate the frame which is kind of a job but it was something I was planing on doing for the motor mounts. I don't know if I really wanna fell the motor to much. Is there any paticular motor mounts that would fit with the least modifications. Like a motor mount for a truck, certain car year?

Can I modify my current mounts off of my blazer? Would something like this work? Where I just cut away at the existing one and weld it to the frame. I don't think I need the entire cross member it just seems it will be more in the way. PS I suck at photo shop I only have windows paint on my computer
