These are the new motor mounts I am using. They are from Chris Alston Chassisworks. They are billet aluminum. Since I am going to road race and autocross my car I needed to lower the drivetrain as much as possible to get the center-of-gravity down. I have lowered the whole engine/transmission package 3 inches! I will be cutting out the old mounts. All you need to mount these are two tabs to bolt through. This is their matching crossmember but I don't want or need another crossmember. Therefore, I am just welding two tabs on each frame rail.

Looks like the way to go! I like those motor mounts. They look expensive.

They were... $209.00 shipped!! AFTER I had already purchased them my buddy told me about "speedwaymotors.com" and here are three examples they sell that could have worked just fine and saved me some money at the same time... The first one sells for $80.00: and these two both sell for $110.00: ANY of these could have worked just fine... Live and learn...

These are the peices I was talking about in my thread "make em or buy em". They don't look that complicated to make and i'm sure they could be made for less than $80. I also wonder how strong they are, could they hold up the torque of a 500 hp sbc? They are nice peices though, I like the billet ones. Are the bushings rubber or poly?

Where are most of you V8 Bug folks putting your gas tank and what type of tank are you using? On my Type III V8 Squareback, i have more rear room than a Bug but would like some ideas and pictures if possible.
