i am going to run a manual steering box, but im not sure yet whether i am going to run it on the inside or the outside of the frame rails.

I'd think you'll be happier with it inside the frame rails.

i was just figuring that on the fullsize trucks theyre on the outside ( like what i pulled it off of), and that it would also make more room next to the head for headers.

im planning to set it as far forward as i can manage, but set it lower down some in the frame. going to have the oil pan set next to the crossmember within about an inch.i dont have it all worked out just yet. as far as progress goes i havent made a lot. got the rearend narrowed. and finished welding the axles. so that now i have axles to measure off of for buying mine. i have got a deal in the works. im looking at picking up about 6 bugs for scrap price. should be plenty of straight parts, and probly enough to put another one together. been detailing my engine. but not a lot of major progress. -chris

This weekend a few buddies came over to help out on the the car, well, it was supposed to be one but four showed and more talking than work was done, but they got to check out the car for the first time. What basically got done was we positioned the body in it's finally spot and we lowered the passenger side 3/4" to level the body out. Tonight I'm going to try and finish the body mounts so the bolts down the side of the body bolt up to a piece of angle iron and hopefully I'll have enough time to start working on the floor support. Friday I went and about 5 sticks of angle iron to get it all done. Pics to come...

Last night I cut and tack welded in the floor support using angle iron. I just went off of what Hellraiser's idea. For just being tack welded at the moment it's very sturdy. Next I'm going to weld in the body mount rails that bolt up to the heater channels.

2" drop s-10 spindles, 2 quarts of MasterSeries silver and one quart of chassis black on their way so I can finish up, rebuild and paint the chassis.
