Looking at the front of the engine, on the right side (driver's side) from the edge of the valve cover to the outer most point of the alternator, how far? Also, here is a photo of my Lokar shifter and radiator I am going to use.

Hey Tom, that shifter looks nice. So does the radiator. What size is the radiator?

Thanks for that link Paul. I was considering getting something just like that. It doesn't necessarily have to be a billet alt bracket, but they look cool. I'm going to see what I can do about swing the alt upside down.

Hey Matt,
Everything is looking great! By the way, do you have S-10 dropped spindles on your car?
The stance of your car looks really nice right now... If you don't have the dropped aftermarket spindles on you car now you may be able to raise the body to clear the top of the engine and then drop the suspension with the lowered spindles...
Just a thought...
Keep up the GREAT work!

Just a thought... Keep up the GREAT work! Thanks Ray. I do have the 2" dropped spindles. I'll be able to get the engine in the engine bay a little lower because I had 4x4 s10 engine mounts in it. I just purchased some 2wd motor mounts. I originally was going to get a 4x4 frame when I started the project, but that deal fell through and I got the frame I have now. So that should help a little. I'm just going to fabricate a cowl induction hood. The cowl shouldn't be too big as I also plan to get a 2" filter to replace the 3". Who knows, maybe with these adjustments I'll get it to fit under the hood. How's your project coming along Ray?

Well, I think with any street rod, or race car, you'd want to distribute weight as evenly as possible. The rear is so light at this point it's no problem, with two guys, to lift the rear. We literally lifted the rear to move my car in the garage to put it where I wanted it when I got it home.

You know, I lift my project car all of the time by myself with my "cherry picker' (engine hoist using a tow strap.

Glad to hear you are finally out of the small garage. I know all about throwing out a bunch of parts when moving. The car is looking great.
