Here is what it looked like, and what the 350 looks like (being that everything you see is the same): He made the cold air box (my crude one was worth more than a tenth at the track) Ran good until it lost comp. in #5, Matt never cranked over 5000 with it. That piston had the ring land on the second ring broken down. Mysterious to me, tops looked fine - no detonation effects visible. So out came the 283 and in went the 350 again -with good pistons. Big thrash to do it (I did help). Matt really liked the 283- good power- better gas milage, used the same 270 degree cam (swap). He put on a single 3 inch exhaust system all the way back to twin 3" outlets w/a flowmaster. WAY too loud. Throws the "Sleeper" deal back too. Here is a pic of the interior: The seats are from a Fiero (speakers in the headrests) and the seering wheel is from a Chevette with a Wolfsburg emblem set into the horn button. The steering column is Chevy van (simple) with column shift. Gauges are from the van too, along with the wiring for the car (again- simple wiring), oh and the parking brake.
