I've got 235/55/16 on all four corners at the moment. Looks like I could go to a 285-295 width on the rear and possibly 255-265 width upfront without problems. I'm thinking 18" max rim size with low profile tires without any rubbing issues. Once I've got everything together how I want it and I can afford to splurge a little on wheels I'll more than likely just buy some factory C5 corvette wheels which are 265/40-17 upfront and 295/35-18 out back. ;D

Badnblown, Any chance you could measure the width from wheel to wheel (outer faces) of your rear end ? Need to get my axle narrowed some more when it's over here and could do with some figures to play with that currently work.

i would recomend getting THE wheel and tires that you WILL be using, and mock them up under the car where you want them to sit. that way you can get exact measurements for your rearend.

They're on their way Tyre size is only .5" narrower than BadNBlown's. I know the backspacing of my wheels. I also know that BadNBlown's fit under his stock rear wings. So, with his overall outside measurements and the details I already have about my stuff (wheels, tyres, brakes) I can work out rough figures of what axle width I'll be looking at and what distance apart I can run my rear frame rails. The axle is coming over with the wheels anyway so no cutting is going to be done until it's all here. Just wanted some figures to play with so I can get a view on what i'm looking at. Also, what distance apart the outer faces of the tyres need to be to fit under the stock bodywork. I can build the rest of the car to suit that then.

Hey Simon, With the wheels and tires you have coming and the 3" wider-than-stock fenders I have these are some measurements: - The total width of my setup was 66-3/8" - My hub-to-hub width is 46-3/8" - Therefore, if you plan to tuck them under "stock-width" fenders in round numbers you would narrow the rearend 3" on each side for a total of 6". By the way, my rear wheels were 15"x14" Weld Drag Lites with 29x18x15 Mickey Thompson S/R tires. My front wheels were 15"x4" Weld Drag Lites with 26x6.5x15 Mickey Thompson Sportsman Tires.
