It is nice paint job,but I alone am not crazy about green on anything that is my opinion, but I am sure it will look different outside, wet sanded, and clear coated. Do you have interior pick out yet. Is this the one going on trailer or pulling it

How wide are your rear fenders and where did you buy them I have been given a few other site for fender but like to look around, not sure if I am changing mine but thinking about it alot.Depends on how body sits on frame and how much tire I can fit with stock fenders, just kicking it around darrin

Man, that looks great! That's a really nice color. Looks like the three years of doing body work paid off cause the body lines look flawless. What blocks did you use on your bug? I'm thinking of buying some flexible 16" blocks for the curves and some blocks around 20" for the sides. Also, what grits did you work with? I was thinking about blocking with 180, putting down a high build coat, then blocking with 320, putting down another coat, and then wet sanding / blocking with 600.
Did you paint the car your self? What paint was used? I've heard that you could use cheap color and a name brand clear like PPG and have a nice long lasting low cost paint job.

The longer flexible blocks don't work as well on the curved surfaces of the Bug. We mostly used 6in blocks. 120 and 180 on the highbuild and the 320 and 400 on the eurethane. My friend John the bodyman painted the car and is the brains behind the plastic work. I'm a fabricator and he reminds me that there is a huge difference between a bodyman and a fabricator!!! The paint is U Tech Polybase by Akzo Nobel, a cheaper brand that John swears by and now I'm a fan! The clear is Lesonal, also a cheaper brand, but goes on well and sands easy. It has the same guarantee as the more expensive clears. CMD

Thanks CMD! I'll look into some shorter blocks. Also, I'm going to look into the paints you've mentioned. Have you seen any of the cars painted with these brands of paint after a few years time? I'm sure they hold up well, but I'm curious.
