i wouldn't use them, Had a bad experience where the rear wheel passed me on the highway! and that was a VW engine, a V8 would surly shear them off.

I think it would be cool to have the stock vw wheels up front. Like Carmens.

Until I can afford to get matching wheels for what I'm using in the back I'm gonna stick with these. I did have someone tell me that these were off a late sixties porshe, porcshe, porsche, ( how do you spell that?) I still can't find a match.

This is the pic I was looking for to begin with... It's a stock VW tube front off a 1970 Sedan...

???Is that going to be enough "mat" up front the hold that front end, with the added weight of the V8? P-O-R-S-C-H-E, pronounced 'Porsha'

Sorry, "meat", not mat.

We say Porsh. I would think it has enough meat.

It seemed stout enough, I did add some more structure to it after I put the engine and headers on it. It's plenty strong.

Oh, yeah, my roll cage is also attached to the front end. Thanx for the spell-check.

Thanks for posting that pic. It helps me to decide what to build for a frame.

Well, If hannesslanec Is in Austria He will be limited to fames and such because of the inspections they have in Europe. If a chassis is too rusted they condem the car/truck and you can't touch it. If he can find a bug over there that is still in pretty good shape all he's gonna have to do is stiffen up the floor pans ,cut out what he needs to make the fit,and if he building a RAT ROD, it will be easier. He's not gonna have front fenders,hood,or... Hey that just gave me an idea... How about making the wheelbase about 120" L and locate the cab and rear section farther to the back of the frame, that way you don't cut the front of the VW and that will be your new firewall.
