Nope, Not done Yet......Will probably be another year or 2.....I do have the chassis painted and all of the suspension done so it is a roller now. I just picked up my heads from the machine shop yesterday ( Brodix Track one aluminums Ported and polished ) so I can get the motor and tranny back in it. I will post some more pics when I get a chance.
Thanks for the comments,
Pete

Man, that looks great! Will it be strictly drag? What are your plans at this point?

Hey Pete,
You might be able to help me on this as you've already got the bits.
What strength springs did you get for the coilovers on the front & rear ?
Just ordered the front end kit from J Weimer Rod Garage like you suggested. Gotta wait for them to get a right hand drive steering rack in for me.
One last thing to say. It was seeing this bug done via the prostreetbug plans than convinced me I ought to do it ;D

It was seeing this bug done via the prostreetbug plans than convinced me I ought to do it ;D I have no idea what the front springs are, they came as part of a package deal with my front suspension kit. they are very long right now and i will have to trim them to the correct height once I get closer to completion, Right now the front suspension is held up with a wood block for mock-up purposes. I had to use the 5/8" narrowed control arms to fit the front tires under the wheel wells and I am only running 15 x 4 " rims with a 145-15 tire, Also the steering rack is not a standard Mustang II, it has to be 2" narrower than stock. The stock mounting points are 16" apart and the rack needs to have a 14" mounting hole seperation. The only company I am aware of that has the rack needed is Flaming River but I don't know if they have a right hand drive unit. As far as rear springs I don't remember the spring rates on them. The sales guy at Applied Racing Technologies where I got the rear suspension package asked me a hundred questions and sent the springs he felt would work best. Sorry I don't have definate answers for you but I am still sort of in the trial and error Phase of the build myself.

Measured up my stock setup as 52" drum face to drum face. I've asked them to narrow the front end by another 2" anyway so should be ok with the wheels. also going for the 2" dropped spindles with the package. Gonna try and get it as low as I can.

I went with the 2" drop spindles as well, I am also running the large diameter drilled and slotted rotors up front. is JW making the crossmember 2" narrower ?......cause that won't work unless you narrow the front framerails 2" and then the motor doesn't fit. or are you using narrowed control arms like mine ?
also what is JW charging for the correct rack......the Flaming river 2" narrowed rack is $459.00. I have a standard width mustang II rack that I am trying to make use of, I think I may be able to squeeze it in there !

Yep. Firewall and floor will be the last pieces to go in....it will be easier to make the headers, exhaust and fuel / brake lines without the floor in the way.

Looks like the project is coming along pretty good. to the guy above me who wrote about the mustang 2 rack wondering if it will fit or not. I used a Mustang II Rack on my VW and I narrowed it 8 Inches all together so just in case you cant get it to fit, atleast you know that the rack does come apart and it can be shortened if needed. I had to cut 8 inches out of the housing of rack shorten it up weld it back together and for the inside shaft I cut 6 1/2 inches out of it and took 3/4 inch off each tie rod end to equal up the 8 inches. I was unsure if a mustang II rack could be shortened so I got the bright idea to tear it apart and see for myself and sure enough I did it. My car stears great with it.
