8-)Thanks for posting the pictures. Engine is 350c.i./330h.p Trannie,700R4 and a narrowed 9"Ford rear end that hopefully will be done in about a week or two. I am trying to keep the outward appearance as close to stock as possible. I am running Goodyear Eagle GT P195/60x15's all the way around on painted smoothie wheels. As soon as I can figure out how to post pictures, I will.

You're doing a great job so far Tom. Keep us updated. I like the vehicles that look stock. Sleeper...

interesting build here...a square-back might be a good starting point for a rear engined project..hmmmmmmm... ;D..and I just remembered a trike i saw this past summer at one of the local car shows..a guy took the front clip out of a FWD GM car(I didn't see the owner to ask what it was when he started it) and locked the steering, made a frame to attach a motorcycle front end on it,also made a deck over the motor and connected the struts together for a passenger seat..it was a wild looking beast!..so,I'm thinking of a build, not as wild as that 500 CID monster that was widened..bighoov,but something just a little tamer..like starting with a mid 90's Caddy de Ville..they have V-8's in them...hmm...this is where I need more money and a garage.. ;D

Did you ever see the "Caddywagon" site ? It's an old one but they slotted the subframe of a FWD Caddy ('85 ish ??) into the back of a bug.
Radiator was the back of the direvers seat but it looked pretty cool.
Apparently the subframe was the perfect width to slot into brackets and a frame to fit the undersite of the bug floorpan. All went under a stock decklid but needed something like 6" oversized rear wings.

I Googled that and most of what I came up with was the new "wagon" that Caddilac is putting out next year..also the only V-dub that came up was a restoration project by Alan Jones..and all that was was one photo of an older bug with no other links at all..

Right then, I've found them all out and re-created the website. It was a '74 Eldorado that he used. This is what first sparked my interest in a V8 bug many years ago. Unfortunately Caddys aren't exactly 10 a penny over here ;D Here's the copy --> www.v8dubs.com

Thanks for putting that together. I was going to dig up the wayback link and post it, but this is much better. Also, I think the caddywagen deserves it's own thread!

No worries, I saved the files off wayback machine ages ago when the site went offline. Figured i'd get it back up online one day just never got around to it. If there's any other out of date sites that you think should be archived let me know

Work is progressing on my V8 Square. Hopefully, I will have the narrowed nine incher completed next week sometime. I am running a triangulated four bar. The lousy snow we have had yesterday and the day before has slowed some things down.
