No worries mate. I've had a fair bit of time off from it whilst doing some websites anyway and due to money I won't be on it for a bit either. Was just wondering Cheers, Si

Does anyone know where the best place is to buy New Fenders for my 69 Bug. My fenders are Old, Beat up, alittle rusty, and there not worth trying to straighten out, I would have way to much time in them. I want to put all 4 new Steel Fenders back on the car but I dont want the Cheapy Aftermarket fenders, I would like to find some Heavier Gauge fenders like the German Fenders. Whats the best place to get a Nice set of fenders?

"The last Beetle was produced in Puebla, Mexico, in mid-2003. The final batch of 3,000 Beetles were sold as 2004 models and badged as the Última Edición." Some good info on the history of bugs here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_Beetle

Might want to just as around on other bug forums like thesamba.com, superbeetlesonly.com, germanlook.com... Here's a few sites that sell fenders. jbugs.com jcwhitney.com mamotorworks.com They all have the same photo representation so they might get them from the same manufacturer. Good luck with your search!

Jc whitney sells them for $84 a peice, they also have hoods and a lot of replacement body parts. I rebuilt my whole front end from the jcwhitney catalog. Discs brake kit, ball joints, tie rod ends ,safety harness, and the shocks.

Most of the spares we get over here are the mexican panels. The steel is crap compared to the German originals. The repro ones are better in some cases lol.
As above though. It might be worth checking on thesamba.com for some.

Yup, still looks bad @ss!!! Did you ever figure out whom you'll buy new fenders from? If you need help figuring how to get that video off of your device and up on the net let me know. I'm kinda savvy at those things.

Hey V8 Superbeetle: I looked at a couple different people who sell new fenders for VW's but Shipping is out the Ying Yang. LOL. trying to find a place closer to me to save on shipping or maybe even pick them up.
Hey HellRaiser: Thanks alot for the comments. Yeah I can not get over how much people love my car even with the paint job that is on it. Its crazy I tell ya. I get more looks and pictures take of then a 40,000 show car does at car shows. Although sometimes I do get laughed at doing down the road but its all good. I Just slam the pedal to the floor and blow there doors off. LOL.

Well, Im not in a really great mood right now but ill get down to the point.
Yesterday after I spent all day cleanging up my VW and was getting it ready to head to a Show. I pulled out onto the main road and made a holeshot pass up the street and then I started hearing a noise, almost sounded like a blown headers gasket, you know how that sounds. So no big deal right, thats not so bad to change for me. So I bring the car back to the shop and I shut it off, when I went to fire it back up it started and belched white smoke out the drivers side tail pipe and it was wet and then I started to get a Whiff of Antifreeze and I think you get the picture. I guess your not suppose to run 8 pounds of boost on stock head gaskets. Ive read a couple blower books and they recommend a GM Steel Head gasket for blower motors which is what I had on the motor but I guess it wasnt enough. So Now its time to upgrade, I think im gonna go with a set of copper head gaskets and try them and since im putting good gaskets on, Im thinking about buying another pulley and putting some more boost to it and see what happens. I just wish it could have held up for another week or 2. Cruisin weather is almost over where I live and I didnt plan on driving it to much longer this year. Sorry to share my problems with everyone but Dont read it if you dont want to.
