Just about finished. All that's left to do is add the cam break in oil suppliment and Rotella T oil, prime the oil system, install the distributor, install carb / air cleaner, press on the damper, install lower pulley, and setup the alternator. The plan is to get these things done during this week.

Thanks. Me too. I still have to run plumbing before I can fire it up, but that shouldn't be too difficult.

Man you are making some progress! I have an oil pump primer if you need one. Awesome! I actually do need one. That's the next thing I'm going to do is 1.) Install the damper 2.) Prime the oil system before the distributor goes in. And to do both these things I need the tools for. I still have your number so I'll give you a shout sometime this week. Thanks.

They're Hedman shorty headers for the S10 V8 conversion. I sand blasted them and painted them with Dupli-Color 1500ยบ ceramic paint. It's about $7.50 a can at AutoZone or Summit.

I was debating on buying some, my only consern was the s10 conversion kit moves the engine about 3 inches it looks like, and I didn't know if the headers would still clear everything. Lol. Friend of mine is giving me a set of headers off of his old drag jeep so if those don't fit I'm gunna try the hedmans. I've got a nice set of sanderson street rod headers super shortys, that didn't fit if anyone is interested.

Don't get the block huggers, they say in the install instructions they don't fit the s-10 conversion.

Moves the engine forward or backward? The S10 V8 mounts give you 1 1/2" of adjustability.
Yeah, you'll have to get S10 specific conversion headers. The problem is that most if not all long tube headers will want to sit right where the frame rails are. They make S10 conversion long tube headers but they're expensive. One of the reasons I got the shorty headers cause they're not too expensive and leave more room.

Almost there. I'm so close to finishing I can here it start. This past weekend I moved into my new house so I really didn't have too much time to work on it. Also, part of the hold up is I'm having to search for a 7/16-20 4" grade 8 bolt to hold on the harmonic damper, also so I can rotate the engine while priming it and so I can set the #1 piston to TDC so I can drop in dizzy and set the initial timing . Other than that it's about 98% complete. This weekend, hopefully Saturday, I'm going to drop the engine in the bug for the first time. Mainly cause I have to get it out of the complex by the end of the month. So my goal is to get it home this weekend which is right down the street. I've installed the motor mounts and frame pads, not pictured, and the engine is just about ready to be dropped in.
