I'm still missing the seals that go on the tube before the tortion arms, cant find them. also, cant find the throttle cable, one peice of front brake line, the coupling for the brakes to the rear, and the brake parts are all metric so I dont want to buy those again!! So what I'm doing now is, when I find a part, I put it on the bug and try to find something else. Got the gauge cluster out and started on it... Then hung it from the 6AL plate... Now the wiring begins, I'm making new harnesses and repulling all new stuff, new relays, switches, and a new H2O temp gauge. long way to go. ;D

Thanks Matt!! This process is really slow, that and I got a monkey commin any day now. I'm soon to be taking a break from the bug when Owen gets here.
I'm finding that I forgot to order some stuff before the paint started, so now I'm waitin to be able to afford them.

I hear that. Very exciting that the little one is almost here! Man, it seems like yesterday Madi was born. I can't believe it's been almost 6 months already.

It does seem that time is going by faster and faster. I'm kinda glad that I got the cutting /grinding/welding/painting(for the most part) done. That way, if I'm just pullin wires or just bolting stuff together, and it's not freezing, he can hang in the garage with me. I picked him up his first set of baby tools this past week, from Lowe's.
On another note, my just turned 14 yr old, is starting to get an itch to build his first ride. I'm thinking, help him build a V8 bug. I got another 350, just need the other stuff... Hmmmm...

Nothing but the fun stuff left to do, put all the fresh parts back together. Haha, I didn't realize they make a baby tool set. That's cool.
His friends sure would be envious. Definitely would make for a cool father son project.

UHHGG!! My seals are still not here, and the tracking number says there in transit, IN TRANSIT!?? BUT WHERE??? Man I hate mail order stuff!! Going to Summit again this weekend, New baby permiting, to get another can of clearcoat, flexplate, and torque converter. My old flexplate has a crack in it, and I needed a new converter anyways, going with the Hughes street master 2500 stall, and a summit flex plate for racing. At least this will allow me to get my engine/trans in the bug, and then I can finish MOST of the wiring. Still got a lot to do, but I can just barely see light at the end of the tunnel, even if it's just a candle. ;D

Small change of plans yesterday, I just called Summit to order the flexplate and converter. Dont want to take chance of baby comming and I'm an hour away. Ordered the Hughes Street Master 2400 stall and the summit flex with new bolts. I'll worry about the clear later. HOPEFULLY, the engine/trands will be put back in the bug this weekend. Oh, and just found out today, Doc is going to induce labor next Tuesday morning. up next... baby daddy duty ;D

What kind of seats are you running? Also, hope that more builders start using this site, or I'm done with it. Really a shame.

Awesome! You're moving right along! Those headers look great. Which (mini?) starter is that? I have that same flywheel. ;D
