Shot at 2007-07-16 this is a pic of the back end of the frame shortend, 7" of the front plus 27" off the back and thats 34" shorter. Shot at 2007-07-16 where the frame will actually be cut to shorten the wheel base, thats 24" out from inbetween the wheels. from frame end to frame end it will be a total of 58" shorter when finished. so in other words when finished it will be one hell of a short s-10 frame lol.

back of but with the 12" tires lol. pan on chassis front of bug. but the body doesnt sit as low as i would like on the chassis so the floor boord is going to be level with the bottom of the doors and that will get me 3 1/2" lower lol and then im getting dropped spindles.

Awesome project. I've been looking into a V8 bug project and found yours inspiring because of the simplicity and cost wise. I'm beginning a V8 project of my own and also plan on using a S-10 chassis. I've always thought that would work and you've proved that.
I'm trying to figure whether or not the truck's stock rear leaf spring suspension will work. I see that you cut yours. Is that cause you plan on installing the 4-link? Or is it cause the chassis wouldn't fit, so that's where you had to make you cut, therefor the leaf spring system won't work?
I see the "Bug From Hell" has a leaf spring suspension, so I'm thinking it would work with that setup.
Thanks in advance for any helpful suggestions / tips!

Also, could you tell me a little about the pan picture. Did you cut off the pan from the bug chassis and bolt it down, and plan on bolting the body down that way? Are you using the the stock pan for the floor instead of making a custom one?
