I'm just trying to figure something out and I'm curious to what you plan on doing. I've made up my mind that I'll get left/right full pans w/ seat rails so I can use the original seats and have a stock floor. Depending on how much lower I want the body to sit, or how much closer I want the tires to the fender, I'll do a body drop to get a close to stock ride. So I'm trying to figure out how to achieve a body drop without the frame getting in way of the seat railing, that and I want to mount the pan to the body as it would be originally. How are you doing the body drop and making use of the original floor/pans?

more than likely unless ur realy short, u will probly not be able to use the seats in the stock location. but im not using the pans because i could not mount them in the stock place so what im doing is the lip of the body level with the bottom of the doors im going to weld in my floor accross that. i tried to use the stock pans but i kinda defeted the perpose to have it all hacked up.

That makes sense. I'm 6'2", but I'm thinking I can still use the stock pans (new) as long as they're sitting on top of the chassis. So doing a body lower is probably not going to work. I wont be sure how much of the pan I'll have to cut away, so there's room for the tranny and drive shaft, until I get the motor, tranny and drive shaft in and lay the pans on the chassis. I'm just hoping I wont have to cut too much off so that it renders the use of seat rails useless. I'll just have to figure that out as I go. I'm just trying to avoid buying pans I can't use.

ya but on mine it looked ugly without the body drop. and you lose all of your leg room, im not running the radiator in the front and i still have to move the seats back about 6 inches. but if you can do it then good luck.

Hellraiser, what are you doing about the driveshaft. didn't you cut a section out of the middle of the chassis. Won't you need a shorter driveshaft, where are you getting that from? I like you method of building a v8 bug the best, the s-10 chassis. Anybody know if there is a best year of s-10 to build one of these off of? If i build a v8 bug i want the engine in front not mid engine. Any progress so far

Tthe comment below the video said...
"the front of the frame is the subframe of a early 70's chevy Nova. The rear half is from a ford Bronco II. The halves are welded together. Somewhat crude"
You can tell where the two none matching frame's meet up if you pause it and look carefully. It looks funny with the radiator sticking out below and part of the frame sticking out of the rear fenders, lol! It's a tight little car though!
