Gotta try and squeeze the front part of the rails on. It's gonna be tight in the garage.
Then it's the big wait until I can afford the Mustang II front end setup & the rear 4 link setup.
Once i've got that then I can start mounting the body.

Did a bit more. Seamed up all the rear frame section. Aligned one of the chassis rails and tacked into place. I think i'm gonna need a bigger garage It's amazing how you don't realise what mess there is when you're working. It's only when you stop and look from a distance (which is hard in my garage ) that you see the state of the place Anyway, gave the table a bit of a tidy. Checked I hadn't set fire to anything else & called it a night. Should have all the chassis framework finished within a couple of days

Here we go, a little bit more work done. Had to move the chassis out of the garage so I could turn it round and work on the other side. Thought i'd give it a quick display against the car at the same time. looking good Back in the garage after a quick loooooong tidy up. Turned it round and tacked on the other side front rail. Put a couple of temporary crossmembers in to make sure it all stayed parallel. And that's where it's at now. Further down the line i'm going to be narrowing the rear end about another 7 1/2 inches, raising the height or the rear end frame and fitting the dropped crossmember

The frame is just about there, looks like. I know you want to narrow the rear some more. Great job so far! Are you ready to buy that Mustang II front suspension and a rear for it?

Yep, it's coming along well now. Unfortunately no closer to the suspension setup yet Comes down to cash at the moment & I've not got a contract on so no money coming in either. Plus, after the shipping quote for the rear frame kit i'm dreading to think what it'd be for the front end setup. Might have to find similar alternatives over here. On the other hand, I could nick the back end off the wife's mustang and see if she notices Have got a mate who ships containers over a couple of times a year from the states so might have to coincide it with when he's doing a run.

What about fabricating your own front suspension, so to speak? Get some coil springs, control arms, spindles and steering linkage from a junkyard. I'm sure you could either fabricate some spring cups for them to go into or maybe even go with coil overs.
Just thinking out loud.......

I'm a computer geek unfortunately ;D No mechanical training lol. If I had something to go by then I could make it but doing it from scratch is beyond my tech skills ;D The government and health & safety crap have killed off the good old scrapyard over here. It used to be that you could wander round the cars, spot what you wanted & then be left to your own devices in order to get the bits. Now you have to go to the counter, ask if they've got a part & wait for them to come back with it out the stock area. Have heard that 70-80's Ford Sierras had a similar setup to the Mustang II bits though so might be able to find one of them for sale and strip the bits.

Did a spot more welding tonight Put the front crossmember in. Then came the 'bumper brackets' ;D Should provide a little support in the event of a front end smash Oh, and give me somewhere to mount the rad ;D Finishing off a few of the hard to get to welds & the frame is pretty much done now. Might be able to make a start on trimming the body to fit & mounting the outriggers etc. while I wait to sort the drivetrain bits.
